Ignition Sources
Ignition sources can be divided into active and passive types.
Active ignition sources are for example:
Welding sparks
Grinding sparks
Laser sparks
Electrostatic charges
Tribocharges
Electrical sparks
Hot and glowing material or surfaces
Examples of passive ignition sources are:
A nail which – if sucked into the vacuum pipeline – could create a spark at impact with a metal object
Good to know: All ATEX Zone 22 and higher certified vacuums and dust collectors build by RUWAC are ignition source free which means the machine itself cannot be a source of an ignition.
Our vacuums are build with conductive GRP and bronze deflectors, which makes the forming of impact sparks and static charges inside the vacuum impossible.
